How good is your battery?, If you are going to use the battery that went with your old alternator, then I would suggest you get a new one, otherwise you could kill both the battery and the alternator.
Because you have a Jeep, the alternator is conveniently located in front of you when you open the hood.
Because I don't have all the numebrs in front of me, i will suggest going to an online repair manual or going to your library and renting one. In there, it will tell you how to change out the old and install the new.
