Change it along with the rest of the car, they are cr4p.How to change a alternator on a renault clio mk1?dunno if this is any help. i have changed a few water pumps on the 16 valve clios %26amp; had to remove the alternator to gain access. heres how i did it...... disconnect battery...remove offside front headlight.... support engine as close to the offside part of the sump as possible with a jack... remove offside top engine mounting jack up engine about 4-6 inches.... remove drive belt..... disconnect alternator wires and undo alternator bolts.... alternator will come out through the gap where the headlamp was.
